Clear the undergrowth...

A first part of the work was realized in July, 2001. The main building was indeed loosened of most of the hazel trees which had colonized it. Two persons and about fifteen working hours will have be needed only to reach there. The longest not being so much to cut that to clear the place after cutting...
The second wave of clearing was during the weekend of September, 8th 2001. All the willingnesses gathered for the occasion.

In December, 2001: an intense workweek...

La Faye under the snow The inside of the castle is now almost completely loosened ! Certainly, there are still a few trees, but finally we see the end of the tunnel. It is difficult to imagine that a few months ago still, one was in front of a forest...

In March, 2002: A workday of the FAYEssociation before the first AG!

South Wall A good dozen of members of the association gathered on Saturday , March 16. Objective : cut and still cut whatever falls under the hand... Or almost. And finally, we were able to do a work of enormous release of what had been cut since July.
Fire ! The fire burned much later our departure (circumcised all the same and by wet time...). We had spent five hours to feed it all together and by whole trees sometimes.
At the end of day the main building, its south outside wall and the staves(moats) "is" mainly were clear.

When hands are not enough any more...

When one begins such a construction site, it is necessary to know reason to keep and to realize that sometimes hands are not enough any more ! And so at the end of March, we appealed to the company Giraud to give the blow of grace to moult roots and bushes. The result is impressive and, in Mr. de Provenchères's statements which was present, there are artists of tracto-shovel!

Clearing the access.

With the cooperation of the owner of the forested track Loumerie-la Faye, the access to the site should be facilitated next September so as to allow the access to the castle to the company Barrateaud which has in responsibility the first part of the restorations including the chapel and the adjacent wall. It is an necessary condition if we want to make the castle reborn.
